Legacy: "In the next year, I plan on completing a Master of Arts in Christian Studies at Duke’s Divinity School, followed by four years of medical school. I am going to be tempted to put academics and my career first, but I will take the steps necessary to not get sucked in. I am going to set limits to the amount of time I spend studying and working, so that I can spend quality time with others. In this world of selfies and commands to ‘do you’ it is easy to become self-absorbed and forget what matters most. It is family, friends, and strangers that give life its meaning."

Legacy: "I realized in a lot of ways I have been a fish trying to climb a tree. I let my fear of failing stop me from opportunities such as trying out for a sorority because I didn’t think I was pretty enough or would be liked enough. I didn’t try out for SGA because I was scared of not being elected. I learned that I am never going to be the best at science like all of the bio majors at Nova. But I have learned in a new of being my best, by being in the moment … To put it simply, when am I at my best When I am not trying to be the best?"

Legacy: "As President of CAUSE this was the first time that everybody in an organization turned to me to find an answer to the problem, how are we going to get the organization back on track? This was probably one of the biggest responsibilities I have had as a leader … Law school and the path to becoming a lawyer will be a difficult one … but, those experiences such as having people turn to me for guidance and making personal connections will benefit in the difficult path to becoming a lawyer."

Legacy: "I will do good to others even if they are mean to me. Forgiving is something really hard to do, but once we do it, it’s very liberating. Forgiving is not something we do for other people, we do it for our own inner peace and happiness. So, now if someone asks me what will I commit to, my answer will be, living my life in a way where I can look back and smile, look back and feel a sense of pride and fulfillment, because why throw away the only life we get to live?"
