Purpose Statement
The Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement at Nova Southeastern University is committed to empowering students with leadership and service-based educational opportunities that promote critical and creative thinking and inspire action.
Our office offers an array of opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills, explore the meaning and purpose of their lives, and contribute to their community.
We provide an integrated approach in which students reflect upon and connect their experiences to their values and worldviews, allowing for practical application of their learning. All NSU students are invited to connect into our community of learners. Come serve and be served!
Our Motto
"Think B.I.G." - Belong, Impact, Grow!
Research shows that college students who get involved on campus have higher retention rates and report a more satisfying college experience than those students who choose not to get connected on campus. We also know that a significant amount of student learning comes from activities and endeavors beyond the classroom. The Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement invites you to join us. Please check out the array of opportunities to lead, serve and be transformed while making new friends and lasting memories.
“I was taught that the world had a lot of problems; that I could struggle and change them; that intellectual and material gifts brought the privilege and responsibility of sharing with others less fortunate; and that service is the rent each of us pay for a living . . . the very purpose of life, and not something you do in your spare time or after you have reached your personal goals.”
~ Marian Wright Edelman
