SACS

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate’s, baccalaureate, master’s, educational specialist, doctoral, and professional degrees.

Professional Accreditations

Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice

The Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice (FCE & SCJ) is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). This accreditation covers the following initial teacher preparation programs: Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education - ESOL/Reading Endorsements and Bachelor of Science in Exceptional Student Education - ESOL Endorsement.

Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine

Nova Southeastern University’s M.D. program received provisional accreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) on February 26, 2021 and is a member of the Association of American Medical Colleges.

 

College of Computing and Engineering

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). 

College of Dental Medicine

College of Dental Medicine programs in dentistry, advanced general dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, endodontics, orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, periodontics, pediatric dentistry, and prosthodontics are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, 211 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611; Telephone: (312) 440-4653.

Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing/master's degree program in nursing/Doctor of Nursing Practice program and/or post-graduate APRN certificate program at Nova Southeastern University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. (www.ccneaccreditation.org).

College of Optometry

The Doctor of Optometry Program at Nova Southeastern University is fully accredited by The Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE), 243 North Lindbergh Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri; Telephone: (800) 365-2219.

ACOE is the accrediting body for professional degree programs offered by all optometric institutions in the United States.

College of Pharmacy

The Doctor of Pharmacy Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, 20 North Clark Street, Suite 2500, Chicago, IL 60602; Telephone: (312) 664-3575 or (800) 533-3606, Fax: (312) 664-4652.

The College of Pharmacy is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.

College of Psychology

The Ph.D. Program in Clinical Psychology is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. The Psy.D. Program in Clinical Psychology is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. The Psychology Services Center Internship Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. The South Florida Consortium Internship Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. The Psy.D. Program in School Psychology is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association.

Additionally, the College of Psychology sponsors the Consortium Internship Program, which is a member in good standing of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). The center’s master’s degree program in school counseling and specialist degree program in school psychology are approved by the Florida Department of Education. The college is approved by the state of Florida’s Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling to offer continuing education to clinical social workers, mental health counselors, and marriage and family therapists. The college is approved by the state of Florida’s Board of Medical Therapies/Psychology, Office of School Psychology to offer continuing education.

The specialist program in school psychology hold the designation of National Recognition by the National Association of School Psychologists, 4340 East West Highway, Suite 402, Bethesda, MD 20814; Telephone: (301) 657-0270. The doctoral program in school psychology holds the designation of full accreditation status by the National Association of School Psychologists. As an initial teacher preparation program, the  Psy.S. program is approved by the Florida Department of Education and is part of the accreditation by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) as follows: The Fischler College of Education at Nova Southeastern University is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). This accreditation covers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educator preparation programs at all university locations and online. However, the accreditation does not include individual education courses that the institution offers to P-12 educators for professional development, re-licensure, or other purposes.

The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), has granted 8-year accreditation to the M.S. in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) concentration at Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine

The College of Osteopathic Medicine is accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association and is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine.
The Master of Public Health Program is accredited by the Council on Education in Public Health (CEPH).
The Master of Science and Ph.D. Degree Programs in Family Therapy are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT)

The Master of Science degree program in Health Informatics is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education

Nova Southeastern University's Master of Science in Nutrition, Professional Practice Concentration is approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) as a Candidacy program and may enroll students. As one of the first U.S. programs selected to demonstrate new education and training standards for the Future Graduate Programs, students enrolled in the approved course of study will be considered graduates of an accredited program upon successful completion and will be candidates who meet registration eligibility criteria of the Commission on Dietetic Registration. As of November 2021, the was reviewed for full accreditation and is pending a final board decision.

Nova Southeastern University's Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition has been granted Candidacy for Accreditation by ACEND as a Didactic Program in Dietetics and may enroll students under this status. Students on premises and enrolled in the approved program will be considered graduates of an accredited program upon successful completion of the full program.

Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences

The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredits respiratory therapy education programs in the United States. To achieve this end, it utilizes an 'outcomes based' process. Programmatic outcomes are performance indicators that reflect the extent to which the educational goals of the program are achieved and by which program effectiveness is documented. 

The BSRT First-Professional program #200615 has been granted provisional accreditation by The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).

The Bachelor of Science in Medical Sonography, the Bachelor of Science in Cardiovascular Sonography, and the Master of Science in Anesthesia are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology is approved by the Florida and Nevada Departments of Education and accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in audiology and speech-language pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

The Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program in Fort Lauderdale, FL and the entry-level Doctor of Occupational Therapy program in Tampa Bay, FL is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE), American Occupational Therapy Association, 4720 Montgomery Lane, P.O. The Physician Assistant Programs are accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission (ARC-PA).
The Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program is dually accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education (ACAE).

H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship

Bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs offered in a variety of fields of business and administration are accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education.
The Nova Southeastern University Master of Public Administration Program is accredited by the NASPAA Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation and listed on the Annual Roster of Accredited Programs in conformity with NASPAA standards.

Mailman Segal Center for Human Development

The Mailman Segal Center for Human Development Family Center Preschool and Baudhuin Preschool are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

NSU Art Museum | Fort Lauderdale

NSU Art Museum | Fort Lauderdale is accredited by The American Association of Museums.

Shepard Broad College of Law

NSU University School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Florida Council of Independent Schools, and the Florida Kindergarten Council.
