Welcome

The Office of Orientation and Commuter Involvement cares about students' transition into the university and helping them create a lasting connection with the University. Our mandatory Shark Frenzy:  NSU’s Grand Orientation program is designed to help students and families make a positive and smooth transition into college from high school, another college or from the workplace. Attending Shark Frenzy is the foundation of a student's college experience, and ensures to help create a successful start to their academic career.

Another important focus of our office is the success of commuter students in their persistence towards graduation, and the quality of their undergraduate experience through campus involvement. We engage commuter students through direct programming and intentional outreach measures to continue to make them aware of available services and resources to further ensure their success. Furthermore, our office offers student leadership experiences through our Orientation Leader Team, Shark Camp Team and the Commuter Student Organization.
