Your SharkLink ID is created automatically upon acceptance at NSU. Your SharkLink ID also known as the “username” which can be used to access SharkLink, Canvas, SharkMail, Wireless access and other NSU Web applications and portals.

As part of OIIT's ongoing commitment to provide our Students, Faculty, and Staff the tools needed to work efficiently and safely, we are implementing a new feature for all Office 365 accounts: Multi-Factor Authentication (short for MFA). MFA adds an additional layer of security to your Office 365 account by requiring you to approve each login to your Office 365 account. When signing in to Office 365, after entering your credentials you will be prompted to confirm the login with a number of options, such as:
  • A call to your phone
  • A text message sent to your phone containing a one-time code
  • An approval notification using the Microsoft Authenticator smartphone application

This feature is being implemented to ensure that your account, and your data, in Office 365 remain safe and secure. Here are links that will help you with the new MFA

Please note:

Inactive and/or withdrawn students do not have access to their NSU email. OIIT also does not have the authority to activate their account, you will need to speak to your Program Office to get it corrected.

Only Active and Alumni (email retention request) have an active NSU email account.

The Office of Innovation and Information Technology has enabled Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) for access through NSU's SharkVPN services, effective Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

NSU’s VPN service (SharkVPN) provides a secure connection to the campus network from any location, as long as the device has an internet connection. SharkVPN can be used to access campus resources securely with a strong encryption, authenticated access to NSU network from external environments, while it proxies your network traffic as NSU.

SharkVPN is an extension of the NSU network and subject to the University’s policies. SharkVPN connections are automatically ended 24 hours after initiation for service and security reasons.

Click on the Setup Guide relevant to your system configuration and if possible, print it out. Follow the step-by-step instructions to set up your SharkVPN.
