FRATERNITY AND SORORITY LIFE The Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) community is comprised of 11 values-based organizations. There are also three distinct governing councils: Panhellenic Council, Unified Greek Council and an honors society, Order of Omega. Joining a Greek lettered organization provides opportunities for academic support, social networking, service to the greater community, and a chance to be a part of NSU tradition. UNIFIED GREEK COUNCIL The Unified Greek Council (UGC) at NSU consists of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc., and the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations, Inc. They recognize a need to unify a diverse set of Greek organizations with similar goals and purposes, while appreciating their uniqueness and their value to the campus community. They aim to increase awareness and promote a positive image through the encouragement of community service and philanthropy, through the support for high academic standards, and through the development of campus and community leaders. PANHELLENIC COUNCIL The NSU Panhellenic Council (PC) is the governing body over the three National Panhellenic Conference sororities that are located on campus. PC is comprised of five executive officers, six chair positions, and three chapter delegates. While encouraging academic, emotional, and social development in each member, PC promotes unity among all Greek organizations and is dedicated to the improvement of our global community. COLLEGIATE FRATERNAL COUNCIL The Collegiate Fraternal Council (CFC) strives to uphold the values and ethics set forth by their chapters’ rituals. The fraternity men of NSU stand for academic achievement, for the respect of all persons, for guarding the health and safety of all human beings, and for the challenge to their brothers to uphold fraternal ideals in their daily lives.
