Hello, I am Naziba Akther, the SI Leader for BIOL 1500! My major is Biology and Mathematics and my minor is Chemistry and Honors Transdisciplinary studies. I am the President of the NSU Book Club WYRD, treasurer for Tribeta National Biological Honors Society and an active member of the Honors College. I am originally from Bangladesh and moved into the United States approximately 3 years ago. I became an SI Leader because I am very passionate about Biology and I love to assist people in comprehending difficult concepts by means of fun and unique learning techniques. Something interesting about me is that I work as a scribe Ambassador at Memorial Regional Hospital ED and I am also fluent in 4 languages!
My name is Valentina Guidi. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and raised in Florida. When I was 16 years old, I moved to Perm, Russia to pursue my dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer, and lived there for four years. Afterwards, I moved back to Florida to pursue a new career as a reproductive endocrinologist, and have been at NSU ever since. I am currently a sophomore with a Biology major and minor in Sociology. I am also the Community Service E-Board Chair for Junior Pediatrics Club, a member of the Honors College, and have a part-time job as a property estimate writer for insurance company claims. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Russian and enjoy playing the piano and reading when I have free time. I chose to participate in SI because it is an entertaining way to relearn material from a past course, while also helping new students prosper in the course. There is nothing more satisfying than helping a struggling student become a successful learner!
Hi! My name is Anjali Thomas and I am currently a junior at NSU. I am a biology major and I am in the dual admission DO program. I am a part of Medlife, ISA, SASA, and Locks for Cause. Last year, I was also part of NSU Maasti. I chose to be an SI leader because I realized how much the Tutoring and Testing Center helped me last year with all my difficult classes. I would always attend SI sessions and go for tutoring, and that really made an impact on helping me to keep my GPA high and manage my non-academic life. In the past, I worked at a tutor at Kumon as well. A fun fact about me is that I have never been on a rollercoaster before.
