Hi! My name is Paula Veras De La Rocha, I’m an Engineering major and an SI leader for BIOL 1500. I chose to do SI because I have always been one to help those around me in their learning process as often as I can, so it seemed like a perfect fit! I am a part of the Chemistry Club, as well as an e-board member for the NSU chapter of Florida Engineering Society. Some fun facts are that my favorite sport to watch is Formula 1, I can speak three languages, and my favorite cities are Budapest and Montreal.
Hi! My name is Sofia Celis. My SI subject is Biology 1500. I am a Human Nutrition major in the dual D.O. program. I chose SI because I enjoy biology and helping the students in the class. I think its important to guide students, particularly first year students, in healthy and helpful study habits. I am part of the Farquhar Honors College and active in NSU Pediatric Heroes. I enjoy the arts, specifically reading, my favorite book series being Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I work at Memorial Regional Hospital as a patient transporter, my long term goal is to be a Nephrologist.
Hi! My name is Dana, and I’m an SI leader for BIOL 1500. I’m currently a senior biology major and will be applying to genetic counseling programs this fall. Coming to NSU, SI sessions were something that helped me gain confidence in the classroom and strengthen my understanding of complicated course material. As an SI leader, I hope to build relationships with students and see them succeed, helping them overcome any challenges they may face along the way. Outside of the classroom, I serve as the Vice President for Junior Pediatrics and a volunteer with Crisis Text Line. Some fun facts about me are that I have a dog named Nova (unrelated to NSU) and I love being outdoors, but especially kayaking and hiking.
My name is Kalina Yang, and I will be an SI for Biology II this semester. My major is biology. I chose to be a returning SI, as I had an enjoyable time working and helping students last semester. I am a part of the Pre-dental society club, along with the Asian student association club. Three fun facts about me include: my senior quote was, "I used to be indecisive but now I'm not quite sure" -Tommy Cooper, I have three dogs, and I can always rewatch Friends and How I Met Your Mother.
Hi, my name is Hari Koganti and I am the SI Leader for Anatomy and Physiology I (BIOL 3320). I am a Bio major and Business and Political Science minor on the pre-medical track. I chose to be an SI Leader because of the SI leaders I had while taking Anatomy and Physiology I and Statistics. I felt that they really helped me understand the material of the courses and were part of the reason why I did well in those classes, and I wanted to help other students, like myself, who needed help in some of their classes. Apart from Supplemental Instruction, I am a part of the Indian Student Association, the Pre-medical Society, and the Pre-Osteopathic Medicine Association. A fun fact about me, is that I love to travel! Over the summer, I went to Hawaii and I got to snorkel with Manta Rays at night. It was a fun experience! I also love the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Brooklyn Nets, and I am a Formula One fan, where I love Ferrari. I'm also a huge car guy, and I can name a few cars based only off of what they sound like.
I am an SI Leader for A&P 2. I am majoring in Biology, Dual DO. I became an SI leader because I know how helpful SI is as a student and I want to provide the same assistance to others taking the classes I needed help with while doing content review for myself. I am apart of SPF, Pre-Med Society, Chinese Yo-Yo Club, TriBeta, On My Own. I have a dog, I like to crochet, I've played violin for 12 years
I am majoring in Biology I chose SI because in the past three years of undergrad, SI has helped me so much with comprehending the material more than just the surface level, and I want to help do the same for other students. I am a part of NSU Maasti, Pre-Dental Society, Women's Pre Dental Society, NSU ISA. I have never had braces. I really love the Madagascar movies. I love to lift weights at the gym.
