Hello, I am Naziba Akther, the SI Leader for BIOL 1500! My major is Biology and Mathematics and my minor is Chemistry and Honors Transdisciplinary studies. I am the President of the NSU Book Club WYRD, treasurer for Tribeta National Biological Honors Society and an active member of the Honors College. I am originally from Bangladesh and moved into the United States approximately 3 years ago. I became an SI Leader because I am very passionate about Biology and I love to assist people in comprehending difficult concepts by means of fun and unique learning techniques. Something interesting about me is that I work as a scribe Ambassador at Memorial Regional Hospital ED and I am also fluent in 4 languages!
My name is Paula Veras De La Rocha, I'm an SI Leader for BIOL 1500. My major is Engineering, with a concentration in Biomedical. I chose SI because I have always loved helping people in their learning process. I'm a part of Library Ambassadors, LASA, and I'm also on the e-board for Chemistry Club. A few fun facts about me are that I'm an international student from the Dominican Republic, I speak Spanish and French, and my all time favorite song is Viva La Vida by Coldplay.
My name is Pranay and I’ll be an SI Leader for Biology 1500! I’m a premed student majoring in Biological Sciences in the Dual D.O. Program. In accordance with my interest in medicine, I’m passionate about educating and improving the educational processes as a means of improving the quality of life of those around us. This year, I chose to be an SI leader to delve into topics I find intellectually stimulating, while also providing struggling students with the mentorship they need to conquer their academic challenges. Outside of SI, I’m a part of the Razors Edge Research Scholar Program as well as NSU Children’s Advocates. To name a few fun facts, I used to work at a local Kumon, which was ironically the worst job I’ve ever had as I was never paid fully for my hours. I also used to be extensively engaged in debate back in high school and can be found listening to lyrical rappers like Eminem and Logic in my free time.
Hello everyone! My name is Carolina Alzamora and my SI subject is Biology II. I am entering my fourth year, majoring in Biology and Behavioral Neuroscience with a minor in Honors in Transdisciplinary Studies, and on the pre-medicine track. I chose SI because I believe that the activities and additional help that a student receives during SI sessions truly helps them understand and grasp the course material better. I am President of Student Research Society (SRS), one of the Alvin Sherman Library Ambassadors, a mentor in the Shark Mentoring Program, and club members of Neuroscience Club, Interfaith and Spirituality Embassy, and Women in STEM. Here are some fun facts I would love to share: my family heritage is Peruvian-Japanese; my favorite Disney character is Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh; and Neon Trees is my all-time favorite band. Looking forward to a great semester ahead! Stay safe!

I’m part of the Honors College, and participate in many of their events. My hobbies include traveling, photography, and reading.

Some fun facts about me are that I played the violin and harp in high school, my favorite animal is a cat, and I’m from Buffalo, so I am a die hard Bills fan #BillsMafia.
Hello Everyone! My name is Geena Song, a Sophomore here at NSU. Before coming to Florida, I lived in the desert, hot Arizona. Fun fact about myself, I also lived in Indiana, Minnesota, and Korea. I am currently in biology major and the Dual Dental Program. Some of the clubs and organizations I am part of include MedLife, Pre-Dental Society, and Tennis. I chose to do SI because I found out that I loved watching my peers grow and succeed in their class when I helped them with challenging subjects. Hi everyone! My name is Aswini or people know as as Anju!!! I'm a senior! I’m in the dual dental program with a major in Biology and a minor in Studio Art!! The best class I've taken at Nova Southeastern University was definitely "Materials and Methods." It's an art class where you work with various materials and make art out of them! It was TRULY THRILLING! We did wood burning, worked with resin, bacterial art on a petri dish, made 3D art out of paper, and more. It took me to the next level as an artist and taught me to be more versatile. I would recommend this class to anyone, not just artists!! If I could take 2 books on a deserted island, it would be my Bible and Robinson Crusoe. I am a Jesus-follower so the Bible is what I seek to center my life around! As for Robinson Crusoe, I would learn practical ways to survive LOL. Both of those books would help me survive! TV shows that I can watch over and over again without getting bored are definitely The Office, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Spongebob.
