Student’s Guide to Taking a NSU Exam in the Testing Center

  1. Whether it is a make-up or accommodated exam, your first step is to communicate with your professor.
  2. If the exam is approved to be taken in the testing center, your course instructor will complete our Faculty Exam Form.
  3. You will receive an email from Testing Services notifying you to call for an appointment time. Within that email, it will detail the time allowed for the exam and any aids permissible.
  4. Your next step is to contact Testing Services to book your appointment.
  5. After booking, you will receive a confirmation email with your testing appointment information and our center's Student Testing Guidelines.

Make sure to read the Student Testing Guidelines prior to arrival at the Testing Center. For your testing appointment, make sure to bring a valid photo ID (NSU Student ID or government-issued ID) and any approved aids for the exam. You will be provided with a locker to secure all personal belongings. Each testing station has pencils, scrap paper, and earplugs.

Testing Services administers challenge exams in Spanish and French for NSU students with a background in the language, and the Composition challenge exam for incoming students. Students must meet with their Academic Advisor for a referral to take these tests. Select the NSU challenge exam you are interested in taking for more information:

Credit by exam allows students to accelerate their studies by earning college credit through examination. Testing Services currently offers three different types of exams that allow you to earn college credit.
