Killian Hitsman

Content Tutor

My name is Killian Hitsman. I tutor in all courses of Mathematics and some courses in the Physical and Natural Sciences. My major is Mathematics and my minor is Chemistry. I chose to tutor so that I could spread my opportunities, further improve on my soft and teaching skills, and help improve the learning environment to those in need of learning supplements. I was a former member of the Chemistry Club and was also inducted into the Florida-Delta Chapter for the Kappa Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society. The best class I’ve ever taken was MATH 3450 Elementary Differential Geometry. My favorite genre of music is Funk Rock. One of my biggest regrets is doing the Wingstop Atomic Wing Challenge. Ouch.

Max Itkin

Professional Tutor

My name is Max. I'm a professional math tutor representing the TTC.  A veteran of the center, I have a good working knowledge of the content in NSU's core math classes, as well as a general understanding of teacher's expectations for these courses.  I have a B.S. in Mathematics from University of Pittsburgh which also happens to be my original hometown.  In my free time, I enjoy playing poker and hopefully watching the Pirates make a playoff run this year! Whether you need a lot of help or just a quick question answered, feel free to stop by and see me.

Abbie John

Content Tutor

Hi everyone! My name is Abbie and I tutor in math and science.  I am a junior Behavioral Neuroscience major. Here are a couple of fun facts about me: my favorite planet is Pluto, because it is the smallest and most underrated. People hate on it for being a “dwarf” but I still think it is a real planet. My favorite show to binge watch on Netflix is Hulu. So, my favorite show to binge on there is either The Handmaid’s Tale or The Bachelor. A talent I always wish I had but can’t do is flying. I wouldn’t have to pay for flights (as long as I can fly fast), and I could go wherever I want whenever I want.

Annie Kurian

Content Tutor

Hi everyone! My name Annette is but I go by Annie. I am an Accounting tutor, but I can also tutor math and science. I am majoring in finance on the Premed track in the Dual Admission D.O program. I love helping people understand their course material better because it usually helps build their confidence and encourage them to pursue their dream career without insecurity or fear.I am a part of Greenhouse Campus Ministry and I serve as the Missions Coordinator. If I could major in anything, I would be a vocal performance major and then join a professional ensemble, perform, and tour the world. A movie I would change the ending too would be Game of Thrones because I desperately wanted Jon Snow to win… what else was the point of him being a Targaryen? The band I was obsessed with in middle school was One Direction.  I still listen to their music and watch video compilations of the days when they were together.

Carly Rothert

Hello! My name is Carly Rothert and I am a senior biology major with a minor in bioinformatics. I am in a pre-med track and will be applying to medical school in the summer. A few organizations that I am a part of include Ablaze Campus Ministry of which I am the President and NSU’s Women’s Track and Field team where I am a Captain. I tutor math/science and originally wanted to be a tutor because of my experience working as a LA in the chemistry labs. While there I would help students figure out how to solve problems in a hands-on setting and fell in love with the whole process. The best advice I received was “If you did your absolute best, then you have no reason to be disappointed in yourself”. A show that I can watch over and over again without getting bored would be “ New Girl”. My favorite season of the year would be spring. Everything is blooming, it’s the perfect temperature, and lots of baby animals are born.
