Check-in Upon Arrival

F-1 International Student Check-In

All F-1 students on initial* NSU I-20s must attend an F-1 International Student Check-In in order to have their SEVIS records registered and activated.

*This includes all students on initial NSU I-20s, including students who have transferred from another institution, students who are starting a new program at NSU, and students who are in the middle of their NSU program but have been issued a new initial I-20 for another reason (following a termination, leave of absence, etc.)

Check-In is a two step process:

F-1 International Student Check-Ins are offered 30 days prior and 20 days after the start of every fall, winter, and summer term.  Students starting during other times (Fall 2, Winter 2, etc.) will need to contact the Office of International Affairs to arrange for a check-in time.

All Fall 2018 F-1 Check-Ins Have Passed.
Contact to schedule an F-1 Check-In.

Location: Office of International Affairs, Horvitz Administration Building, Room 253

Submit Your Documents Here

Instructions on how to submit your documents will be provided during the F-1 Check-In Session (see above).

Please contact to request a web-based F-1 Check-In Session.  [Available only for F-1 students studying at the regional campuses.  Not available for students studying in Davie/Fort Lauderdale.]

Please note that your SEVIS record will not be registered until you have successfully completed the F-1 check-in process.  SEVIS registration must be completed before students are able to apply for a Social Security Number or Driver's License.  SEVIS registrations will be completed within seven business days after students have completed their F-1 check-in, including attending the F-1 Check-In Session and uploading all of their required documents.
