At NSU, you can choose between two different PPO medical plans from ICUBA, administered by BlueCross BlueShield. Prescription Pharmacy Benefits from OptumRx and Behavioral Health Benefits from Aetna accompany your medical insurance election but are administered separately. NSU also provides a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), accessible using the ICUBA Wex or Ameriflex card, to each employee enrolled in an NSU/ICUBA Medical Insurance plan!
HRA funds can be used to offset out-of-pocket costs for eligible medical, dental, and vision care expenses for covered members. HRA contributions begin at the end of your second month of participation in an ICUBA medical insurance plan and continue as long as you remain enrolled!
Medical Insurance from BlueCross BlueShield will be updated at the close of the business day following your new hire enrollment or the approval of the life event by the Office of Human Resources.
Example: A life event approved on Friday will be updated with BlueCross BlueShield before the end of the following Monday and your benefit election will be active in their system on Tuesday morning (actual effective dates of coverage are based on the life event documentation submitted).
