Transfer Evaluation Services

Transfer Evaluation Services (TES) provides assistance to students who wish to transfer academic credits to NSU or obtain college credits for learning experiences outside the classroom.

Transfer of Academic Credit is granted

  • from regionally accredited colleges or universities
  • for military service (SMART transcript).

Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students may transfer a maximum of 90 degree applicable credits and must complete 50 percent of their major at NSU. Students who have earned an Associate of Arts degree or 60 credits from a SACS accredited institution from 1992 to the present will be a considered as having junior standing at NSU. Graduate students may transfer a maximum of 12 credits, however, some NSU colleges choose to accept fewer. For transfer on the doctoral and professional levels, the number is limited such that the total transfer credits do not exceed two-thirds of the required credits to complete the degree program, or less as determined by the individual program or college.

Students in Graduate and Professional Programs

For transfer credit at the master and specialist level, the number of transfer credits is 12 or less, as determined by the individual program or College.

For transfer credit at the doctoral and professional levels, the number is limited such that the total transfer credits do not exceed two-thirds of the required credits to complete the degree program, or less as determined by the individual program or College.

For more information, visit the TES Web page or review NSU's TES policies.
