Online Courses

Safety training is available on Canvas as self-enrollment.  Students/faculty/staff have access to all the training modules, however are only required or expected to take applicable training courses. Follow the guidance outlined by your program or in the Self Enrollment Instructions to determine which modules are required.

Available courses with certificates include:

• Laboratory Safety in Research and Education
• Bloodborne Pathogens
• NSU Hazardous Waste Pharmaceuticals
• Respiratory Protection in Healthcare Settings (Book your fit test HERE)
• Hazard Communications
• Laboratory Chemical Waste Management RCRA
• Management of Hazardous Waste containers and Waste Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAA)
• Biosafety Level 2
• Radiation Safety Awareness
• Organic Peroxide Awareness

Please consult your supervisor or program of study for the specific certificates required.

Note:  Be sure to click on the circled “i” under the Canvas icon and be patient to allow the FACULTY/STAFF SELF ENROLL CLASSES to load.  They take several minutes to load.

If you require the following course, you will need to contact EHS for enrollment. 

• Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings
• Physical Plant Safety (English or Spanish)
• Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC)

Email: EHS@nova.edu and indicate which course you are requesting.

Radiation Safety Training for Research with Isotopes (in-person)
