You cannot receive workers' compensation until you report your injury/accident. The deadline is 30 days in the state of Florida. You may become ineligible for benefits if you file late. The university's policy #37 in line with state code requires written notice. You are also encouraged to file immediately you become aware of your injury. The First Report of Injury packet (FROI), which is used to file your claim, is online. Once you complete the accident report (FROI), please send it to us and keep a copy for your records. Fl statue 440 does not allow for self-referral, the exception is emergent medical care (911). If you are injured at work after regular business hours, or injured badly enough that you need emergency care please go to the ER. You must inform us of same by the next business day.
