Homecoming 2019

Description: Current NSU students who wish to attend a Fins Football home game must first reserve their package for the 2019 season by submitting a one-time $75 refundable fee. Students can then redeem their package and claim a ticket to any desired game/s once student and/or guest reservations for that game are open. Description: Join us as we kick-off the week of events with a sprinkle of shark pride. The event will be filled with giveaways and music.

Location: Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center

Description: Join us in our Opening Ceremony. The event will be filled with music, food vendors, interactive games, student performances, the introduction of the men's and women's basketball team and a SPECIAL REVEAL, and much more! The night will begin with celebrating our Shark Pride as we look to have a great start to Homecoming week!

**First 500 students will received a Build-A-Shark**

Date: Tuesday, November 5, 2019

Time: 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Location: Gold Circle Lake

Description: Every year, dozens of NSU students, faculty, and staff come out to cheer Razor’s Edge students in the Annual “Anything That Floats” Raft Races that takes place during NSU’s Homecoming Week at the Gold Circle Lake. The Office of Campus Life and Student Engagement in conjunction with Recreation and Wellness is excited to continue this tradition in having both Razor’s Edge Leadership AND all registered student clubs and organizations participate for the chance to compete and win $2000!

There will be 6 heats. The winner’s from each heat will be in the qualifying 7th final round and it will consist of three winners.

  • First place winner will win $2000
  • Second place will win $1000
  • Third place will win $500

All prize money will either be awarded to the student organization account or the money will go toward a Razor's Edge Student Legacy project.

In order to participate, you must complete the online team registration by visiting www.nova.edu/raftrace. Although the packet will be turned in online, all 6 teams members’ Liability Release Forms need to be physically signed and turned in together to the Office of Campus Life and Student Engagement. In addition, attached you will find the Rules and Regulation Packet for this year’s race in addition to Raft Races Frequently Asked Questions. Online registration as well as all 6 Liability Release Forms are due to the Office of Campus Life and Student Engagement by November 1st, 2019 at 5 pm in order to participate. Description: Join us for an evening of song with a special performance by an NSU Alumnae as we collect donations for those in the Bahamas affected by Hurricane Dorian.

Description: What a way to celebrate Homecoming Week with your fellow NSU Sharks! Come out to dance the night away at the biggest event of the week - the Homecoming Bash! We have DJ Hercules from 99 JAMZ spinning on the one's and two's and be ready to "dress to impress" on a night of fun! Please bring your Shark Cards and a government-issued ID with you. 

Pre-sale Tickers will start on October 24th, 2019. Tickets will be sold from Monday through Friday, 11 AM - 5 PM, in the Office of Campus Life & Student Engagement, located in the Don Taft University Center. Please see the breakdown of ticket prices below.

Guests of NSU Students and/or Alumni - $10
Students will have a max of three (3) tickets that they can purchase. Tickets will be sold the day of the event with the above times and will be sold ONE HOUR PRIOR TO DOORS OPENING.
TICKETS ARE NON REFUNDABLE.

Rules/Reminders:

  • If you choose to take your own transportation, please park at your own risk in the designated parking lots and/or garages. 
  • You are not allowed to re-enter the Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center if you leave the facility.
  • Prior to entering the venue, if you, the student, alumni, and/or guest show signs of being under the influence, you will not be allowed to enter. 
  • No bags are permitted in the venue (handbags are permitted). See below for specific sizes.
  • All NSU students and guests will be held in accordance to the NSU student handbook along with any and all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
  • For security and promotional purposes, please be aware that all NSU buildings are equipped with video and audio surveillance and there will be photography taken at the event.
  • No food and/or beverages are allowed onto the Rick Case Arena upon entering.
  • The entrance will be located towards the Flight Deck area. Please proceed to the barricaded entrance point.

Location: Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center

Description: Join the Unified Greek Council as they stroll, step, and salute in our fourth annual Homecoming Yard Show in Miniaci. The event will also include a live DJ and is open to all NSU students, staff, faculty, and alumni as well as members of the community. Be sure to come out and have a great time with us!

Description: Looking to enjoy your Friday night?! The Undergraduate Student Government Association is back with Friday Night Flights! Enjoy great late-night food by Shark Dining, music, activities, and much more!

Location: Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center

Description: Come out to the Shark Tank and support your NSU Men’s Basketball team as they take on Florida National. This game is sure to be a good one, so you don’t want to miss out! There will be giveaways throughout the game as well as the official introduction of the Homecoming Court winners at half time!

The 2019-2020 Homecoming Court will consist of 18 selected students to represent Nova Southeastern University. Throughout the week, the students will have their chance to showcase school pride and exemplify why they should be chosen as this year’s winners. Final winners will be selected based on a series of categories throughout Homecoming week.

The candidates will be selected from a process beginning with an application after which 4 representatives from each class will be represented on this year’s court.

Homecoming Court Applications will open on October 18th at 9 am and will close on October 28, 2018 at 9 am.  You can access the Homecoming Court application through Sharkhub.
