At Nova Southeastern University, we offer a wide variety of service opportunities for students throughout the year. Our Days of Service events allow Sharks to serve the community in unique ways, with each experience focusing on a different social or community need. The Center for Student Leadership and Global Engagement provides multiple opportunities each month.
To get involved, you can find information on upcoming days of service on SharkHub. All events require an RSVP, so be sure to sign up early! We hope to see you at one of our events soon.

Dubbed "The ultimate service project," this partnership between the Center for Student Leadership and Global Engagement and the Office of Campus Life and Student Engagement brings together more than 300 students each year. Sharks partner with a variety of local nonprofits to address a range of important social needs throughout our South Florida community.

- 9/11 Day of Service
- In remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001, students volunteer at various sites across Broward County to honor those who were lost and to uphold the spirit of community and resilience.
- Make a Difference Day
- As part of the nation's largest community service effort, this event takes place annually on the fourth Saturday of October. Students join millions of others in making a positive impact on the community through meaningful volunteerism, demonstrating that even small acts of kindness can create a ripple effect.
- National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
- The NSU community dedicates a week to raising awareness and taking action to address food insecurity and homelessness. Students participate in volunteer activities, educational workshops, and fundraising efforts to support local organizations dedicated to these causes.
- MLK Day of Service
- “Make it a day on, not a day off.” The NSU community joins together to honor the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr by strengthening communities, bridging barriers, and creating solutions to social problems. Our service projects aim to move us closer to Dr. King's vision of a just and equitable society.
- Earth Day of Service
- In the spirit of environmental protection, NSU's Earth Day of Service focuses on sustainability and conservation. Students engage in activities that work toward a more environmentally friendly community, both on campus and in the greater Fort Lauderdale area.
