Area Coordinators (ACs) are master's-level professional staff members who oversee one of NSU's residential
communities and serve as a key resource for residents and Resident Assistants (RAs).
ACs provide leadership, support, and guidance within their assigned community, supervise
and mentor RAs, and help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive residential experience.
As live-on professionals, Area Coordinators are available to support residents and
respond to community needs through an on-call rotation, ensuring a professional staff
member is available 24/7/365.

Lead Resident Assistants (Lead RAs) are experienced student leaders who serve as mentors, resources, and role models
within their residential communities. In addition to their responsibilities as Resident
Assistants, Lead RAs take on an elevated leadership role by supporting their fellow
RAs, helping strengthen team culture, and assisting with community initiatives.
Lead RAs help coordinate and enhance residential programming efforts, provide support for engagement opportunities, assist with operations and events in Shark Cove, and participate in higher-level leadership meetings to share feedback and ideas that improve the residential experience. Through collaboration with professional staff and fellow RAs, Lead RAs help create a connected, welcoming, and engaging community for all residents.
