Medi Futures Virtual Shadowing Program logo

Every Fall and Winter semester, the Center for Academic & Professional Success (CAPS) hosts a virtual shadowing program known as Medi Futures NSU. This program features 30+ virtual presentations each semester from a diverse range of healthcare professionals, including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, physical, occupational, and speech therapists, social workers, and more.

CAPS created Medi Futures NSU to give NSU students a comprehensive understanding of the many career pathways within healthcare. This virtual format offers valuable, accessible exposure to the field—especially for students exploring their options or preparing for graduate programs.

All sessions are recorded, and students complete short content quizzes at the end of each week. Students who meet the attendance and participation requirements receive a certificate verifying 40 hours of virtual shadowing.

By learning directly from professionals across disciplines, students gain a deeper appreciation for the interconnected nature of healthcare and the wide variety of roles that contribute to patient care.
