Overview

Through collaboration, the Learning and Educational Center Academic Media Production Department supports NSU faculty and staff by creating and producing multimedia content to fill various needs, such as promotions and engagement. To facilitate this collaboration, support is provided through each stage of the production process: ideation, strategy, pre-production, production, and post-production. The LEC Academic Media Production Department is here to help you with the following project types and more: instructional videos, cinematic story videos, and (audio/video) podcasts.

To help us understand how we can collaborate, please fill out our project request form and book a meeting to talk about your project.

Video Request Procedures

Video Release Form: Every person appearing on camera must sign a video release form, which authorizes LEC to videotape the person and use their image. A copy can be found here: Video & Photography General Release Form

Videotaping Guidelines

  • Wardrobe: To make the best visual impression, on-camera talent should generally wear professional attire unless the production does not call for it. It is suggested that talent not wear a white shirt or high-contrast color combinations (i.e., a white or off-white shirt with a dark jacket or dark tie). Pastels and dark-colored shirts/tops are suggested. Wider stripes are recommended instead of shirts/tops with thin stripes – either horizontal or vertical. Avoiding highly reflective jewelry such as solid gold or silver chains, necklaces, and earrings is also suggested.
  • Locations: LEC Faculty Studio: located in DeSantis 3025.  It contains a black background and a green screen, which can be used for any production. Additionally, we provide videotaping services on location (outside the studio). Please contact us for a consultation on what type of setting will work best for your project.
  • Video Script: A video script is vital to the pre-production process. Although we do not require a script for every production, it is highly recommended. Media Production can provide scriptwriting and/or conceptualization assistance for your project. Please contact us for more information.
