1. Get Inspired

- Attend Information Sessions: These are every week in the Office of International Affairs. Meet us in the Horvitz

2. Connect with Advisers
- Meet your Academic Adviser: Discuss study abroad feasibility and credit transfer possibilities.
- Consult other key advisers: Razor's Edge program director, coaches, dual program advisers, etc.
3. Explore Program Options
- Review programs: Sharks Abroad website and other search engines.
- Narrow your choices: Consider offered courses, program fees, and inclusions.
4. Plan Your Finances
- Assess your financial aid options: Which will apply to your chosen program?
- Explore funding sources: How will you bridge the gap between aid and program costs?
- Check scholarship deadlines: Ensure timely applications for eligible scholarships.
5. Apply for NSU Approval
- Submit your NSU Study Abroad Application: Deadlines are March 1st (Summer/Fall/Academic Year) and October 1st (Winter/Spring). Contact sharksabroad@nova.edu for potential deadline extensions.
- Hold off on financial commitments: Wait for your NSU acceptance email before financially committing to the program.
6. Program Application
- Apply to your chosen program: Proceed only after NSU acceptance.
- Meet program deadlines: Ensure you comply with their application and deposit deadlines (often earlier than NSU's).
- Confirm participation: Once accepted, solidify your decision to participate.
7. Prepare for Departure
- Complete NSU documents: Fulfill all required university paperwork.
- Attend NSU Pre-Departure Orientation: Gain valuable pre-travel insights.
- Meet program requirements: Complete all pre-departure tasks set by your chosen program by their deadlines.
- Secure immigration documents: Obtain any necessary travel permits or visas.
