Commencement guests using wheelchairs can enter and exit the building through either the North or East lobbies of the venue. There is an elevator located directly across from the box office for convenient access to the arena entrances. All wheelchair accessible seating is located on the second floor of the arena. Guests needing assistance should bring their own or rented wheelchairs or walkers since these, or other such devices, are not provided by the UC. Only one guest may accompany those who require wheelchair assessable seating so as to secure enough seats for all of our guests with special needs. For more information, please contact (954) 262-5551 or visit the website www.nsuarena.com
The Arena at the Don Taft University Center on the NSU main campus in Davie, Fla., provides handicap accessible parking spaces are located on each level of the public parking garage, located approximately 200 yards north of the Don Taft University Center (UC) at the NSU North Entrance on Southwest 30 Street and Ray Ferraro, Jr. Blvd. Golf carts will be in operation before and after the ceremony to transport special-needs guests to and from the parking garage and the UC. Only vehicles legally using disabled license plates or window cards are permitted to park in these designated spaces.
Commencement guests will also have the opportunity to view a live telecast of the ceremony via closed circuit television at three on-campus locations: the Flight Deck Pub (offers a family-friendly environment conducive to guests with small children who may become restless due to the length of the ceremony) and the Performing and Visual Arts Theater in the Don Taft University Center and the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center, which is part of the Alvin Sherman Library. Seating is available on a first-come basis. The sign language interpreter is visible on the live telecast screen. The simulcast viewing is not closed captioned.
All NSU Commencement ceremonies will also be video streamed in real time. Visit the NSU Commencement home page and click on the "Commencement Ceremony Live" icon for access. All NSU Commencement video streams are archived at www.nova.edu/commencement/archives/index.html approximately one week after the ceremony.
