Promoting Organization Group

Fin Points were created in order to promote collaboration, communication, and a campus community. Fin Points are allocated only towards events or activities that promote student organization growth, creating name recognition on campus, and giving back to the community. 

FIN Points Submission must be done within 72 hours of the FIN Point activity on SharkHub. 

Benefits of Fin Status

  • Used for New or Unengaged Organizations
  • Base Funding of $250 (per semester)

Blue Fin 30-60

  • Used for Engaged Organizations
  • Must attend a Tool Kit Series and/or Center for Student Leadership and Global Engagement hosted event to receive status
  • Eligible for Apparel & Accessories: T-Shirts
  • May request promotional items (up to $100/year)
  • Full event funding request (up to $1500/year, not including work orders)
  • Event features on IOC social media
  • Eligible for Organization of the Month

 

Silver Fin 61-119

  • Used for Actively Engaged Organizations
  • Must host a Center for Student Leadership and Global Engagement approved service event to receive status
  • Apparel & Accessories: T-Shirts, Other Apparel, Accessories
  • Promotional items (up to $200/year)
  • Full event funding (up to $3000/year) + work orders covered by PanSGA
  • Inventory & Capital items (up to $100/year)
  • Eligible for Gold Fin Awards
  • Event features on IOC social media
  • Eligible for Organization of the Month
  • Guaranteed priority tabling at Shark Tank Thursdays (space permitting)
  • Complimentary headshots by Student Affairs Marketing Services
  • 5 Additional Printed Posters from OASIS
  • Eligible for Mako Radio Spotlight
  • Priority Locker Rental*

 

Gold Fin 120

  • Used for Highly Engaged Organizations
  • Must host event during International Education Week or LEAD Week (Center for Student Leadership and Global Engagement sponsored) to receive status
  • Apparel & Accessories: T-Shirts, Other Apparel, Accessories, Hoodies
  • Promotional items (up to $200/year)
  • Full event funding (up to $5000/year) + work orders covered by PanSGA
  • Inventory & Capital items (up to $250/year)
  • Speaking Fees / Honorariums (up to $1500/year)
  • Eligible for Gold Fin Awards
  • Eligible for Organization of the Month
  • Priority tabling at Shark Tank Thursdays & Community Fest
  • Student Experience Catering Fund ($500/year)
  • Complimentary headshots & event coverage by Student Affairs Marketing*
  • 5 Additional Printed Posters from OASIS

Organizations may only receive points for one activity at a time, groups may not claim points for more than activity at a time following per event, activity, program, or workshop. Students who belong to more than one organization may only count points towards one organization.

Fin Point Proposals are welcomed, and may be emailed to ioc@nova.edu

All new and returning organizations will start at 0 Fin Points for the new academic year no matter the respective clubs’ previous Fin Point status.

Fin Points are to be submitted by completing the form found on SharkHub. The form is labeled as “Fin Point Submission Form 2025-2026" and can be found by selecting the “Forms” tab on your SharkHub page. 

The following are considered automatic, and the form on SharkHub does not have to be completed to receive these points.
