International Student Orientation (ISO)

Summer 2018 Orientation

Students beginning their studies during the summer are not required to participate in an international student orientation.  However they are required to attend an F-1 Check-In and attend any mandatory orientation offered by their academic programs.

Fall 2018 Orientation

Arrival:

All incoming international undergraduate students living on campus must arrive on Wednesday, August 15th.  The Office of International Affairs will provide free airport pickup from the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL) for students who submit their requests by Friday, July 27th.

  • NSU does not provide transportation to or from any other location besides the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL).
  • NSU does not provide transportation for parents, siblings, friends or guests.
 
Move-In:

Move-in day for all international undergraduate students living on campus (except athletes and student leaders who have been assigned prior move-in dates) is Wednesday, August 15th, from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Please review the Residence Life & Housing page for additional information. 

 
Orientation:

Orientation for all incoming international undergraduate students is on Thursday, August 16th from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

International student orientation includes the mandatory freshman orientation program so students are not required to attend a separate orientation date on campus.  However, students who do attend one of the other freshman orientation dates are still required to attend the afternoon portion of the International Student Orientation, from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

New Graduate & Professional F-1 international students are not required to participate in an international student orientation.  However they are required to attend an F-1 Check-In and attend any mandatory orientation offered by their academic programs.
International students studying at the regional campuses are not required to participate in any international student orientation.  However they are required to attend an F-1 Check-In and attend any mandatory orientation offered by their academic programs.
All NSU students on initial I-20s (including students who have previously studied at NSU) will need to also complete the International Student F-1 Check-In in order to have their SEVIS registration record and maintain valid F-1 status.
