Dr. Poland, along with Drs. Terri Erbacher and Jonathan Singer, has recently published Suicide in Schools, a practical guide developing and implementing effective suicide prevention, assessment, intervention and postvention strategies. The book includes detailed case examples, usable handouts, and internet resources for working with suicidal youth and those who have lost a loved one to suicide. The book can be found here.
Drs. Scott and Donna Poland (retired school principal) recently completed the Suicide Safer Schools Plan for the state of Texas, sponsored by the Texas Department of State Health Services and Mental Health America of Texas. On August 19th, Dr. Scott Poland provided the keynote address on the plan at the Texas State Suicide Prevention Symposium in Houston.
