Medical Emergencies
- Call 911 immediately: Provide your exact location, the nature of the injury, and your name.
- Stay calm and follow the dispatcher’s instructions.
- Do not move the injured person unless they are in immediate danger.
- If you are trained in CPR or first aid, administer appropriate care.
- Control bleeding by applying direct pressure to the wound.
- Locate and use an AED if necessary. AED locations are posted throughout campus.

Fire Emergencies
- Pull the nearest fire alarm.
- Evacuate the building immediately.
- Account for all individuals in your group.
- Call 911 and provide the location and nature of the fire.
Police Emergencies
- Call 911 for immediate assistance.
- Provide your location and the nature of the emergency.
- Do not approach or confront the suspect.
- Observe and remember details about the incident, such as descriptions of people or vehicles.
- Contact NSU Public Safety for non-emergency situations or to report suspicious activity.
