Ali Abbassi is the senior marketing director for NSU's Division of Public Relations, Marketing, and Creative Services. In this role, Abbassi manages and oversees the NSU Brand/Image Advertising, President's Office, Center of Innovation, Advancement, and Alumni Relations.
Abbassi is a strategic marketing executive with a demonstrated commitment to hands-on execution with cross-sector marketing experience ranging from higher education, energy, communications, IT, SaaS, CPG, retail, and technology products; Abbassi specializes in brand strategy and marketing, digital marketing, and eCommerce. Throughout his career he has successfully hired and built teams to lead organizations through digital transformation of the marketing and sales operations.
Additionally, Abbassi is the co-founder and CEO of the start-up Locomotive, an e-commerce marketing automation and personalization platform that helps with funnel management and paid media integration. Abbassi also serves as a Sr. Advisor for The Senate of The Economy, a civil and social organization fostering economic growth. Prior to joining the NSU Florida family Abbassi served as the senior director of marketing at UCLA, and he was an advisor and board member of Greenuke Technology, a green engineering company that developed a solid-liquid separation system for radioactive waste treatment. Abbassi also created the patented GATE System, a new concept in cellular in which handsets work simultaneously with multiple-installed SIM Cards.
Abbassi holds two Global Executive M.B.A.'s from UCLA Anderson and Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, as well as a B.A. in English Literature from UCLA.
