Application Support and Operations

Application Support

The Application Administration team ensures optimal operation, performance and efficiency by evaluating, installing, updating, maintaining and providing high-level support for many third-party and custom applications for the NSU community.

Application administrators are responsible for supporting various applications such as Admissions, Recruitment and Enrollment, Law School and University School applications, Work and Project Management applications, job automation, call center management and statistical visualization applications as well as supporting the Clinical Operations Patient Management System and University-wide Document Imaging System and Mass emergency notification system.

Change Management

The Change Management Office (OIIT) is a service discipline at Nova Southeastern University dedicated to safeguarding standardized methods and procedures are used for proficient and rapid handling of all changes to controlled OIIT infrastructure, in order to minimize the impact of any related incidents caused by change upon service.

Database Administration

The Database Administration (DBA) team is responsible for the performance, integrity, backup and recoverability, and security of NSU’s production databases. The DBAs coordinate with fellow OIIT staff, administrators, functional users, and management to analyze and strategically plan for evolving database management needs.

Operations

The Operations team monitors the production job scheduler, administers the tape library, and prints/distributes paper reports

Release Management

Release Management is an organizational process whereby software is taken from the initial requirements, through development and testing, until deployment and delivery of the finished software to its users. The key roles of release management at NSU are:

  • Implementing industry standard release management best practices
  • Tools administration
  • Version control
  • Source code control,
  • Release planning
  • Continuous integration
  • Continuous delivery (automation)
