Jeff Selingo, is a leading voice on the future of higher education, a New York Times bestselling author, and a longtime journalist. A former editor of The Chronicle of Higher Education and contributor to The Atlantic, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal, he has spent more than 25 years examining how colleges and universities prepare students for an evolving workforce. His work explores career readiness, innovation in education, and the changing expectations of employers and learners. His insights help institutions and individuals navigate change and encourage graduates to think critically, adapt, and define success on their own terms.

As an author, Selingo has translated his reporting into influential books that guide students, families, and educators through key transitions. In “College (Un)Bound” and “Who Gets In and Why,” he challenges traditional assumptions about higher education and highlights the growing importance of experience, adaptability, and lifelong learning. In “There Is Life After College,” he follows graduates into the job market, demonstrating that what students do in college—from internships to mentorship—often matters more than where they enroll. His most recent book, “Dream School,” offers a research-based roadmap for finding institutions where students can thrive.

Selingo advises leaders across education and industry on how to prepare students for the future of work and compete for emerging talent. He encourages students to chart their own paths. He holds degrees from Ithaca College and Johns Hopkins University and serves on the boards of Ithaca College and the National Association of Independent Schools.
