Arts and Sciences

Farquhar College of Arts and SciencesThe Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences houses two graduate degree programs: M.A. in Writing and M.S. in Experimental Psychology. These programs offer small classes taught by knowledgeable professors with extensive research, publishing, and industry experience. The writing program prepares students to work in publishing, education, public relations, and advertising, as well as for careers as professional writers for magazines, newspapers, and businesses. Experimental psychology students prepare for doctoral programs in psychology and for careers in teaching and research in industrial, government, private consulting, health care, and community settings.

Business

H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and EntrepreunershipWe offer a variety of business degree programs at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship including accounting, finance, human resource management, and public administration. The Huizenga School is one of the top business schools in the country and is home to the largest M.B.A. and Master of Accounting degree programs in Florida. Our main campus is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but our programs are also available at multiple locations and online.

Center for Psychological Studies

Center for Psychological StudiesThe Center for Psychological Studies, organized in 1967, has distinguished itself nationally through its master’s degree programs in counseling, mental health counseling, school counseling, and general psychology; a specialist (Psy.S.) and a doctoral (Psy.D.) program in school psychology; and two APA-accredited doctoral degree programs (Ph.D. and Psy.D.) in clinical psychology. The center trains students in its Psychology Services Center, which serves children, adolescents, and adults through its outpatient programs and 13 faculty specialty clinical training programs.

Computer and Information Sciences

Graduate School of Computer and Information SciencesA major force in educational innovation, the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences provides educational programs of distinction to prepare students for leadership roles in information technology. The college’s strengths include a distinguished faculty, a cutting-edge curriculum, and flexible online and campus-based formats for its six M.S. and four Ph.D. programs as well as for its graduate certificate programs in information security.

Criminal Justice

Criminal Justice InstituteThe Criminal Justice Institute works closely with other NSU schools/centers to enhance the knowledge base of those currently in the field and to equip future professionals with real-world skills and career marketability. Our partners will supplement your skills through internships and cooperative research. College of Allied Health and NursingThe College of Health Care Sciences strives to train health care professionals in the art and science of improving the quality of life and health of their patents and communities. Graduate School of Humanities and Social SciencesAt the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, understanding and betterment of human social relations is a central theme of our multidisciplinary, multi-professional, and multicultural endeavors. Law

Shepard Broad Law CenterInnovative teaching and a 21st-century curriculum set the Shepard Broad Law Center apart from other law schools. Graduates here don’t just earn a degree—they encounter the real spirit and practice of law. Our pioneering combination of academ­ics and clinical experiences gives our students the knowledge and skills they need to hit the ground running and launch a successful career in the highly competitive legal marketplace upon graduation. Medical Sciences

College of Medical SciencesThe College of Medical Sciences, offers a Master of Biomedical Science degree for individuals seeking careers in Health Care and Higher Education.  The College provides foundation courses in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, and Physiology to equip students with the basic scientific training they will need to ensure their success in careers as health care providers.

Oceanography

Oceanographic CenterStudents and faculty and staff members come to the Oceanographic Center from many parts of the world to pursue research in biological and physical oceanography. Areas of interest include modeling of large-scale ocean circulation, coastal dynamics, ocean atmosphere coupling, coral reel studies, benthic ecology, marine biodiversity, calcification of invertebrates, marine fisheries, marine microbiology, molecular ecology and evolution, and wetlands ecology.

Optometry

College of OptometryToday’s optometric physicians practice in urban and rural communities throughout the nation, in individual and group practices, in hospital settings and centers for vision research, and in the public health service. They also take part in teaching, research, and public health. NSU’s College of Optometry stands alone as the only optometric academic institution in the state of Florida. We take pride in this optometric education program, which provides strong didactic and clinical educational experience for graduates.

Osteopathic Medicine

College of Osteopathic MedicineAs a student in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, you can anticipate a remarkable experience that includes the opportunity to pursue degrees in public health and biomedical informatics. You will train; study; interact; and share facilities, faculty members, and resources with other Health Professions Division students. This interdisciplinary approach will better prepare you to master your discipline with a sensitivity and understanding of the entire health care system. Pharmacy

College of PharmacyThe educational programs and facilities of the College of Pharmacy are among the best in the country. Our faculty members are enthusiastic and on the cutting edge of pharmacy practice. With more than 500 clinical sites and more than 700 preceptors, this experiential education is as comprehensive and diverse and anyone could desire. Perhaps the most important focus at NSU is upon our students. They work in groups to solve problems and complete assignments. Faculty members have an open door policy and meet with students on a regular basis.
