Frequently Asked Questions

The Report Finder tool offers a comprehensive dashboard solution, facilitating users to locate existing data resources efficiently. These resources encompass NSU SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports and PowerBI dashboards. SSRS reports present tabular reports, while PowerBI dashboards typically display more graphic results. The Report Finder dashboard also introduces functionalities like a data dictionary and an access request feature, streamlining the reporting process and enhancing data accessibility.

Access Report Finder

SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a server-based report generating software system from Microsoft. It is part of a suite of Microsoft SQL Server services, including SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) and SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and it is a reporting software that presents formatted reports with tables, graphs, and charts.

Power BI is a robust data visualization tool designed for exploring and understanding data visually. It's a business intelligence tool that tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and uncovers data insights.

If you require generating and using standard, paginated reports on-premise, for analysis, it is recommended to utilize SSRS. On the other hand, if you require creating and using interactive and analytical reports with rich graphics, Power BI Report Server should be a consideration.

Please access the Report Finder dashboard to search for additional reports and dashboards.
