Attend a Performance

The Nova Singers is Nova Southeastern University’s premier community chorus. Having just marked its 42nd anniversary, the all-volunteer choir includes approximately 140 members—ranging from NSU undergraduate students to senior members of the local community. The Nova Singers serves as musical ambassadors for the university as they sing around the country and abroad. The choir’s previous performance destinations include Carnegie Hall and Saint Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. The Nova Singers' repertoire ranges from the classics and Broadway hits to modern composers' original works.

Three opportunities to hear Dan Forrest's luminous and monumental Requiem for the Living composed in 2013. A Requiem, at its core, is a prayer for rest – traditionally, for the deceased. However, the five movements of Requiem for the Living form a narrative just as much for the living, and their own struggle with pain and sorrow, as for the dead.

The second half of the program will celebrate the music of life and good living including Early American spirituals and a medley from Broadway's hit musical "Fiddler on the Roof!"
