Students who are interested in studying abroad should start by attending an information session! Attendance at an information session is the required first step before any individual study abroad advising appointments.
Study Abroad Information Sessions Mondays & Tuesdays - 9:00am & 4:00pm Office of International Affairs 2nd Floor, Horvitz Administration Building, Room 253
Information sessions are led by OIA staff and/or peer advisors -- NSU students who have studied abroad! No appointment is necessary, just show up and learn more about studying abroad!
Information sessions follow class schedules; if classes are not scheduled (breaks, holidays, weather cancellations, etc.) information sessions will not be held.
Questions? Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
NSU works with many study abroad partners who offer study abroad programs around the world!
Students may also search for programs using study abroad search engines such as www.abroad101.com and www.goabroad.com.
Students who wish to study on a program not currently partnered with NSU should contact SharksAbroad@nova.edu to discuss the approval process.
Every year NSU faculty members offer travel study programs to destinations around the world.
New programs are often announced by faculty, programs, and colleges directly. Talk to faculty within your major to inquire about future travel study offerings.
*Karlee is studying abroad for the Winter 2019 semester and will return as a Sharks Abroad Peer Advisor after her adventure!
Karlee is a junior and an International Studies Major with minors in Global Engagement and Spanish. She studied abroad in London at University of Roehampton in the summer of 2017. Since then, she has been working at the Study Abroad Office to help other students along their study abroad journey. Studying abroad was such a positive impact on Karlee’s life and she wants to share this experience with others and aid them in their own travel journeys. Karlee will be going abroad again next semester to Granada, Spain.
Geormani Brown is from Tallahassee, Florida and a Junior here at Nova Southeastern University. Raised in a family of travel lovers, she decided to take her college journey abroad the summer after her freshman year. She was inspired to go to Barcelona first by her childhood idol Raven Symone and the movie “Cheetah Girls 2”. While there she stayed with a family and explored all that Europe as a whole had to offer. While she was only there for one summer, she believe it was an adventure of a lifetime.
ARIELLA ERIN C. POON
Ariella is a sophomore Biology major and Studio Art minor. Over the summer of 2018 Ariella studied Physics I and II for eight weeks in Glasgow, Scotland. After a week of studying hard, she spent the weekends traveling all over Scotland, enjoying its natural beauty and famous spots featured in movies like Harry Potter. She never thought she would ever study abroad, believing it was out of reach due to her major and interests, but after spending a summer in Scotland, Ariella realized the entire world was open to her and to anyone. Now she works with the Sharks Abroad Office to encourage and assist NSU students in fulfilling their own abroad experience.
