Sharks Abroad Peer Advisors

All Sharks Abroad program advising begins with our Sharks Abroad Peer Advisers. They will help you learn more about the application process, financial aid options, credit transfer, and even help you prepare for your adventures at our pre-departure orientation. 

Rismeyli Francois

“Hello everyone!

My name is Rismeyli and I am one of the sharks abroad peer advisors at NSU. I am a public health major with triple minors and originally from the Dominican Republic. I spent part of my summer 2024 abroad in Morocco completing my global fellowship where I participated in excursions all around the country, leadership labs, Group talks with world leaders and cultural exchange days with impactful organizations!  During my time abroad I gained a greater global perspective and overall, an unforgettable experience! I am excited to help you turn your study abroad dreams into reality!”

Samia Baugh

"Hello, my name is Samia. I am one of the sharks abroad peer advisors in the Sharks Abroad Office. I am currently a Junior majoring in Human Nutrition with a minor in pre-health. I studied abroad in Chioggia, Italy during Summer 2024 with a medical shadowing program called Atlantis. I am excited to assist you with all your study abroad endeavors and talk about how great studying abroad truly is!"

Skyler Mayse

"Hi! My name is Skyler and I am one of the Sharks Abroad Peer Advisors here at NSU. I am a junior nursing major with a minor in global engagement. I studied abroad in Chile for 5 months and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I am excited to support you in your journey abroad!"

 

Our Sharks Abroad Peer Advisors are led by our Sharks Abroad Supervisor! 

Amelia Wheaton

Amelia is the Sharks Abroad Peer Supervisor and is a Senior majoring in Marine Biology with a double minor in International Studies and Psychology. Amelia studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea in Summer 2023. She earned nine credits through an intensive academic program at Yonsei University, one of the most prestigious universities in South Korea. Her passion for Korean Culture and interest in Asia has allowed her to thrive in her second year in the Sharks Abroad Office and her second year as the President of the Hallyu Club & Dance Team. She enjoys helping students achieve life-changing study abroad experiences similar to hers.
