Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine
Jonathan provides leadership and expertise on data systems, data engineering, data governance, and data management at the Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine. He is also the unofficial chief data officer.
He operates INIM's two most powerful research operations areas: (1) the lab LIMS and (2) clinical EDC arms. These two arms consume data systems, data engineering, data governance, and data management services daily and are behind many of the research studies INIM currently has in its portfolio.
Collaborated with internal and external teams, as well as multiple specialized vendors, to develop and execute organizational goals while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Successfully reduced academic data and increased actionable data by at least 50% throughout the data creation lifecycle. Led the strategic implementation of data stewardship and governance procedures, prioritizing data privacy, security, and compliance, resulting in a 50% improvement. Mapped 99% of the organization's data, providing valuable insights and a solid foundation for leadership to shape future data-driven strategies and investments. Delivered timely and actionable data recommendations to leadership through proposals, further reducing abstract data and enhancing its practical use by at least 50%. Relevant studies include BCell, Butyrate, CoQ10, Covid-Upp, FLDOH mAB, NAC, Glutathione Curcumin, Bacopa, and more.
Worked collaboratively with BCell, Butyrate, Covid-Upp, FLDOH mAB, and NAC teams in creating baseline roles and their respective access control allocations for the project as well as the scope for each role.
Worked collaboratively with BCell, Butyrate, Covid-Upp, FLDOH mAB, and NAC teams on unique development paths given that the platform has pros and cons that make it impossible to apply development strategies utilized in other EDC systems such as REDCap.
When in doubt about a potential roadblock, he worked collaboratively with EDC and LIMS platform vendor.
Designed and implemented data collection instruments that met BCell, Butyrate, FLDOH mAB, and NAC teams objectives without exceeding complexities. The aim is functionality that meets the goal using a simplicity approach to minimize over-engineering platforms/instruments/surveys.
Worked collaboratively with EDC and LIMS vendor during updates and patching to monitor if compatibility adjustments were going to be needed.
Created or refactored the code behind several studies’ instruments (BCell, Butyrate, Covid-Upp, FLDOH mAB, NAC teams) end-to-end from design, architecture, implementation, and deployment to accommodate requirements.
