Cindy Mahendar is an international student who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Rights and Equity Studies from York University in Toronto, Canada. Cindy is currently in the Conflict Resolution Studies (DCRS) Master's program in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS). She also serves as her program's representative for CAHSS Graduate SGA. She has served on the committee for Broward County Public School's first annual "Equity in Action" Diversity Conference in 2015 and is currently a member of the Inclusion and Diversity Council.
Cindy will share her proposed research entitled Research Plan: Diversity NSU, which explores how students in the Conflict Resolution Studies program at NSU engage with a diverse learning experience. A mixed methods research design is proposed to gain an in-depth student's perspective that will inform the development of an assessment tool that can advise staff and faculty on infusing diversity within the curriculum.
