About Budget Administration

The Office of Budget Administration is responsible for the planning, developing, and maintenance of the annual operating budget, under the guidance and direction of the NSU Budget Committee and approval of the University Finance Committee and the Board of Trustees.

The Budget Office is led by the University Budget Officer who reports directly to the Vice President of Finance.

The office monitors actual revenues and expenditures against the budget and prepares monthly reports for the President, Deans and Vice Presidents, as well as for the Finance Committee.

The office maintains financial records system security with assistance from the Office of Innovation and Information Technology and maintains the Chart of Accounts (opening, closing, and freezing of accounts).

The office maintains copies of authorized signatures, processes general encumbrances, and verifies budget availability for check requests and purchase orders, processes budgetary transfers and revisions.

The Budget Office also researches and prepares various materials for projects including, but not limited to performance measures and benchmarking with other public and private colleges and universities with which we are comparable.
