The BEDI Advisory Council expands upon the foundation and hard work of many dedicated faculty and staff who have successfully integrated DEI principles into NSU curriculum, experiential learning, and workplace practices in various colleges and units. Specifically, the Council has created an initial set of Action Plans for FY 23 that were approved and funded by President Hanbury related to their areas and the mission/vision of the Council.

The details and progress report on the council’s action plans will be highlighted on an ongoing basis here. The website will also spotlight various activities around DEI that will promote engagement and an inclusive atmosphere across NSU campuses and in our community partnerships.

Examples of Action Plan items created by BEDI committees include:

• Establishing a BEDI Speakers Bureau
• Applying for DEI-related grants
• Creating a new exit survey to gather information relating to DEI
• Collect DEI best practices, both from NSU and across the higher education world, for posting on this website
