Doctorate of Education | Minor in Autism Program

Based on over 25 years of experience providing educational programming to children with autism, the Mailman Segal Center for Human Development (MSC) collaborates with the Fischler School of Education (FSE) to provide a variety of options in autism coursework in education and human services. The minor in autism provides advanced skills in intervention, treatment, and support services to individuals with autism and their family members. This concentration focuses on current research, evidence-based practice, and problem-based learning in relation to the field of autism. Course content is research based and infuses best practices in education. In addition, the curriculum includes master's or education specialist courses that meet the requirements of the autism endorsement for the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) educator's certificate in the state of Florida.
