Super Sharks

Program Overview

Super Sharks is an invitation only program focused on providing students with supportive resources to help facilitate their academic success and social development. As a Super Shark, you will be required to meet with your academic success coach each semester to discuss success strategies aimed at enhancing your NSU experience with the ultimately goal of graduating.

As a Super Shark, you will benefit from 

  • A dedicated academic success coach committed to providing one-on-one sessions geared towards your social, personal and social adjustment to NSU.
  • supportive network of Student and Academic Affairs Professionals devoted to providing learning experiences focused on academic excellence and social development.
  • Success workshops and events designed to create awareness of academic, career and student support services.
  • career advisor to provide individualized career exploration and planning that compliments your academic experience and supports your professional goals.

Program Components

  • Academic Success Coaching Sessions
  • Tools for Success Workshops (workshop topics range from time management, study skills, writing skills, conflict management, stress management, etc.)
  • Visiting multiple student support resource offices (Academic Advising, Tutoring and Testing, Career Development, etc.)
  • Personal Goal Setting

Scholarship Renewal Requirements

  • Maintain a 2.0 or higher semester and cumulative GPA.
  • Complete the program requirements each semester. Program requirements are tracked through the BlackBoard portal that can be found at https://sharklearn.nova.edu/. The portal will be located under “courses” if you are a part of the Super Sharks program.
