To Place Conference Calls (2 - 5 people):
- Press <CONF> [dial tone]
The present call is put on hold. You will hear a dial tone; all of the other parties remain connected to each other.
- Dial the number of the new party and wait for an answer
- You can privately discuss the call with the new party at this time; if there is no answer or the line is busy, return to the held call by pressing the respective button.
- Press <CONF> again.
All parties are now connected
- Repeat the steps above for additional conference connections.
To Place a Bridged Conference Call (more than 6 persons):
A Conference Call Bridge should be used whenever more than five callers need to be on one call. InterCall charges $.035 per minute, per call. Qwest charges $.0765 per minute, per call.
InterCall
InterCall’s Reservationless-Plus system is an on-demand, audio conferencing solution that allows you to initiate a conference call at any time, any day of the week, without the need to make a reservation or rely on an operator.
The InterCall conference call bridge should be used whenever more than five callers need to be on one call. Prior to your call, please call the following toll-free number to register and receive your permanent dial-in number and PIN: 800-374-2441. Plan for this process to take at least 10 minutes (prior to the time you would like your call to start). When calling the number above, you will also need to reference Nova Southeastern University’s account number: 524771. Have your name, department, NSU internal account code (as provided by the Budget Department), and contact information ready.
Starting an InterCall Reservationless-Plus Conference Call
- Give your participants the date and time of your conference call, your dial-in number, conference code, and security passcode, if this option is enabled.
- At the specified time, dial your Reservationless-Plus dial-in number.
- When prompted, enter your conference code followed by the # key.
- When prompted, press the * key to identify yourself as the leader, then enter your leader PIN, followed by the # key.
- Press 1 to begin your conference, or press 2 to change your default conference options.
- If the security passcode option is enabled, you will be prompted to enter the passcode at this time.
Joining an InterCall Reservationless-Plus Conference Call
- At the specified time, dial your Reservationless-Plus dial-in number.
- When prompted, enter your conference code followed by the # key.
After completing the steps above, you will not only be able to utilize InterCall’s reservation-less plus calling, you will also never need to make another reservation or call the number above again, unless you have a question. InterCall will give you your own permanent confirmation number and PIN so that you may initiate a conference call anytime, anywhere.

Qwest
A reservation for this service will need to be made. To make a Qwest Audio Conference reservation, dial 800-263-3863, option 1.
Each person scheduling a call should use the name Nova Southeastern University, regardless of his or her department or other university affiliation.
In addition to the specific information regarding the conference call, each reservation will require the following:
- Scheduler’s name and the scheduler’s NSU telephone number
- Internal NSU Account Number (as provided by the Budget Department)
Qwest will provide a toll-free number and a password to be used by all the participants to access the bridge. Please provide all participants with this information. The participants dial the toll-free number, enter the password, and are connected to the conference call.
This information will appear on the call detail to assist the telecommunications department with accurate internal billing. If the scheduler is unable to provide his or her internal NSU account number, he or she will be referred to Stephanie Murphy, director of Telecommunications, at (954) 262-2789.
