Mail Automation
Mail Services has the capability to automate large mailings and provide each department with a discount on the postage. To process the mailing, the mailing has to be over 250 pieces. The machines listed below are automation machines that allow the Mail Center to process the mail quickly and send the mailing to post office within the same or the following day.
If your department is planning on conducting a large mailing with the Mail Center, please contact the Mail Center 3 Days in advance to reserve a date for your mailing. By securing in advance, your mailing is prioritized. Without advance notice, the job may be delayed until the following day. The phone numbers for the Mail Center are (954) 262-8870 or (954) 262-8873.
Bell & Howell
This machine has the capability to insert three (3) pages and insert a business reply into a #10 envelope. The Bell & Howell also seals the envelope, thus saving time on manual labor. Your department must provide the Mail Center with supplies, such as #10 envelopes, photocopies of flyers, and #9 business reply envelopes (if any).
Tabbing Machine
The Mail Center has a tabber that can apply either one (1) or two (2) tabs, depending on the construct of the mail piece. If the fold on the mail piece is at the bottom, one tab will be placed on top in the middle. If the fold is on the bottom, two (2) tabs are placed on the bottom portion of the flyer. Tabs are used on flyers and bulk mailings.
Label Machine
The labeler places individual labels on each mail piece. The labeling machine requires that all labels are one (1) up, tractor feed labels. The Mail Center cannot process three (3) across laser printed labels. The dimensions of the labels used are 4" x 1 7/16". Your department must provide the labels for the Mail Center to process them.
Direct Addressing
By using the direct addressing system, each mail piece will have the individual's name, address, city, state, and ZIP and the corresponding bar-code. By having the mail automated, your mailing will reach the individuals faster and save money on large or bulk mailings. The mailing used for direct addressing must be over 250 pieces. Your department must provide a disk for the Mail Center to process and send the mailing to the post office accordingly. Learn how to prepare the disk properly and the time needed to secure your mailing for direct addressing.
