Research and Prospect Management Mission Statement

The mission of Advancement Research and Prospect Management is to provide professional support for our clients, school-based and centralized development officers, as well as the President's Office in the form of the following:


  • Administration of the Prospect Action Tracking process
  • Management of the Prospect Clearinghouse Process
  • Prospect assignment in conjunction with the Vice President of Advancement
  • Prospect research profiles - preparation and access
  • Research on Entrepreneur's Hall of Fame nominees for presentation to selection committee
  • Identification of new individual, corporate and foundation prospects
  • Coordination and utilization of periodic electronic prospect screening
  • Maintenance of a library of on-line and printed information necessary to perform research and provide resources for fund raising staff


  • Positive, supportive relationships with all fundraising staff in the university
  • Prompt and professional assistance to all university fundraising staff
  • Maintain confidentiality of all research information. Communicate with all staff working with prospect profiles the ethical considerations related to prospect research.
  • Prospect management and tracking systems in Banner, a specialized constituent management software. This function includes all prospect and research information in the information system as well as contact and prospect assignment information, and prospect tracking.
  • Individual, hands-on training for prospect management and tracking functions for fund raisers in Banner, the Advancement information system
