The College of Undergraduate Studies is a collection of administrative units that support the academic units and student learning. In any institution of higher education you will find support services in a variety of offices and locations. Our goal was to consolidate the support services that our Undergraduate students need to help them be more successful with their academic pursuits. By consolidating Orientation, Academic Advising, Student Success, Tutoring and Testing and Career Development: we have created a unit that is dedicated to your success as undergraduate students at NSU. All of these offices play a crucial role in the lives of students. Many students use these resources on a regular basis while others only contact us when they have questions or problems. The BEST students know what services are available and where they are located to ensure they get the help they need when it is needed.
Our Goal is Your Success! We define that success by seeing students graduate in the field of their choice and transition into a rewarding career or a Graduate School program to help prepare them as professionals in their field. The College of Undergraduate Studies is ready to assist you by getting you started on that path during Orientation and with the selection of your courses to start your college experience. We offer tutoring if you need help understanding basic or complex concepts in your courses. Testing is also available to help you find the correct placement into your course sequence. Personal Success Coaches are also available to help you with some decision making challenges or help on Time Management issues. And your college journey is not complete without investigating your career options in the office of Career Development.
All of these services are what I like to refer to as “pre-paid.” Yes, your tuition dollars pay for these services so you should avail yourself of them often. Let us help you to become a successful alumnae of NSU. YOUR SUCCESS IS OUR SUCCESS.
