Nova Southeastern University will be open for business as usual on Wednesday,
September 21. All classes, clinical activities, and events will operate on
normal schedules. The University School of NSU, Mailman Segal Institute for
Early Childhood Studies and NSU cluster programs operated within Broward
County Public School facilities will resume normal operations.

All classes, events, and clinical activities on NSU’s main campus
in Broward County and points north, and on the west coast Florida remain
on regular schedule.
Classes at NSU’s North Miami Beach campus, as well as the Kendall
Student Education Center, University School of NSU, Mailman Segal Institute
for Early Childhood Studies and any cluster programs operated within Broward
County Public School facilities (ie. Everglades High School) are cancelled
for Tuesday, Sept. 20. Any appointments at the North Miami Beach Clinic for
Tuesday will be rescheduled.
As of 5 p.m. EDT a Hurricane Warning is in effect for the extreme southern
Florida Peninsula from Golden Beach southward to Florida City and westward
to East Cape Sable. A Tropical Storm Warning and a Hurricane Watch are now
in effect from Deerfield Beach Florida southward to north of Golden Beach.

NSU is currently monitoring the progress of Tropical Storm Rita. All classes,
events, and clinical activities at the Davie and North Miami Beach campuses,
as well as the Kendall Student Education Center are on regular schedule.
The Office of the President will issue an update following the 5 p.m. advisory
from the National Weather Service.
Classes at the University School of NSU, Mailman Segal Institute for Early
Childhood Studies and any cluster programs operated within Broward County
Public School facilities (ie. Miramar High School) are cancelled for Tuesday,
Sept. 20.

The responsibility for declaring the closing of the university and NSU properties is the authority of the University President. In the event of an emergency, the University President may close a part of, or all of the university's campuses, regional sites, and/or locations. In the event of the announcement of a Hurricane Warning or other severe weather conditions, the University President will decide when, if and which portions of the university will be closed.
