Recycling Poll

It is the goal of Nova Southeastern University to make our buildings and grounds attractive, clean, safe and energy efficient. Our goal is to set the standard of excellence in recycling and constructing buildings that are energy efficient.

Our objective is to make recycling as easy and convenient as possible for the University community. By recycling, each of us can help protect and improve our precious natural resources. We strive to recycle all items that would normally go into landfill sites or burnt in incineration plants, so they can be re-processed and re-made into useful products. Every item we recycle makes a difference.

Our Shark Recycling Team is constantly striving to identify opportunities and implement innovative programs to increase campus involvement in waste diversion. The main focus is to reduce, reuse, recycle and ultimately reach zero waste.

Recycling collection services for NSU is provided by our janitorial service provider (also known as our "Shark Recyclers"). Our team is made up of dedicated and experienced custodians who collect and sort recyclable materials generated by the University. Some of the recyclable products gathered by our team include:

  • Plastic Bottles
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Glass Bottles
  • Printer/Toner Cartridges
  • Scrap Computer Equipment
  • Old Cell Phones
  • Wooden Pallets and skids
  • Fluorescent Light bulbs
  • Re-usable office furniture and related items
