Going Green
Learning how to go green is important,
and the earlier in life you learn green
habits, the better. Here are 4 green tips
you can teach your kids now to help
them develop resource-saving—and
money-saving—ways to live green.
1. Use paper on both sides. Have a
readily available pile of paper which has
been printed or written on one side only
for use in making notes, drawing, and
the like. Then recycle.
2. Encourage walking or riding a bicycle
to go to school whenever possible.
3. Don’t buy bottled water. You will use
less plastic, create less litter, and save
money.
4. Check out books from the local or
school library rather than buying them
new. Try to find used text books; this is a
huge money saver.

Blackboard
Upgrades
Blackboard is one of the most important systems used
in teaching and learning at NSU. Our team continues to
enhance the services that we provide to our students
via this highly effective learning management system
platform.
We are excited to share that our upgrade of Blackboard
to Service Pack 10 is complete effective the Summer I
term, 2013. As promised, this upgrade offers many new
features and functionalities that include a new content
editor, math editor, and comprehensive calendar. For
the Summer I term, OI
2
T also successfully upgraded
Elluminate to Collaborate 12, which now supports iOS
devices, such as iPads.
To help educate faculty members about these new
features, please note that the IZone offers specialized
comprehensive training sessions.

PC Fulfillment
OI
2
T and the Office of Procurement Management selected
a trusted partner to manage the lifecycle of NSU laptops
and desktops. The vendor chosen was UDT. This decision
has allowed the university to gain a better price on
computers and made it easier for the users to compare
products in the ARIBA catalog. The vendor has a number
of NSU approved laptops and desktops for quick delivery
and installation.
Along with selecting UDT as the sole provider of laptops
and desktops, UDT will also handle the installation
of the desktop and removal of the old asset from the
department.
After purchasing the computer in ARIBA, the UDT
fulfillment specialist will contact you confirming an
installation date for the computer equipment you have
requested. If there are any special instructions, please
be sure to share those with the specialist before they
arrive, in order to avoid delays in getting your computer
equipment operational.
