Freshman Orientation

Welcome to your first year as an NSU Shark! This mandatory overnight program is designed to assist you in making a smooth transition to university life at NSU! Orientation is the foundation of your college experience. You will receive an in-depth look of NSU, learn about what to expect in your first year, and connect with other first year students as well as existing students.

First-year students/Freshman/FTIC younger than 20

Freshman Students (enrolling for Fall 2018)

Registration: 

Check In: Day 1 at 8:00 a.m.

Check Out: Day 2 at noon

Housing:

It is mandatory for all first-year students to stay overnight during orientation. If you are travelling alone to orientation, housing will be provided in our residence halls the day before orientation if necessary. NSU does not provide housing for parents, siblings, friends, or guests during orientation.

Transportation:

If you are travelling alone to orientation, the Office of Orientation will provide transportation to and from the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport on the day before orientation (June 13, June 20, June 27, and July 16) and on Day 2 of orientation (June 15, June 22, June 29, and July 18).

NSU does not provide transportation to or from any other location besides the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport.

NSU does not provide transportation or housing for parents, siblings, friends, or guests during orientation. 

Lodging:

Parents: Please refer to nova.edu/travel for possible area hotel discounts through Nova Southeastern University’s Travel Office.

Travel Survey

Once you register for your orientation date, a travel survey will be sent to your email where you can request housing the night before orientation and transportation to and from the airport.

ALL STUDENTS ATTENDING ORIENTATION MUST COMPLETE THE TRAVEL SURVEY BEFORE ATTENDING ORIENTATION REGARDLESS OF TRANSPORTATION NEEDS.
