Freshman Orientation

Congratulations and Welcome to Nova Southeastern University!

Through New Student Orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet other incoming students, current NSU students, faculty, and staff. The goal of Orientation is to help you be prepared to begin class, learn how to navigate NSU, and begin to gain a sense of Shark Pride. A variety of activities, opportunities, and resources will be shared with you at Orientation both during the day and in the evening to assist you in getting acquainted with your new community.

Freshman / First Time In College Student Orientation (23 credits or less):

This mandatory overnight program is designed to assist you in making a smooth transition to University life at NSU! Orientation is the foundation of your college experience. You will receive an in-depth look of NSU, learn about the resources on campus, and connect with other first year students as well as existing students.

You are required to attend ONE orientation, please choose the one that best meets your summer plans!

All Students: Summer 2017

Shark Preview Alumni ONLY

As Shark Preview 2017 participants you have the opportunity to choose one of the above dates or you can attend a special Shark Preview Alumni Orientation on Thursday, August 17, 2017.

Shark Preview 2017 Alumni will have the opportunity to reconnect with their Shark Preview friends, move into the residence halls just before the start of class, and connect with existing NSU students, faculty and staff.

Travel Information

If traveling alone, the University will provide transportation from and to the Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL)

Arrival Information:

For Session 1: June 13th, Session 2: July 11th, and Session 3: July 20th Orientations, students can arrive the day before Orientation (Housing accommodations will be provided). 

You must schedule your arrival flight to LAND at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) before 4:00 p.m. Van transportation will be provided by the university from the airport leaving at 4:00 p.m. If driving or being dropped off, please arrive to campus between 4:30 and 4:45 p.m.

Departure Information:

You must schedule your departing flight to TAKE-OFF from the Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) on Day 2 (Session 1: June 14th, Session 2: July 12th, Session 3: July 21st ) after 1:30 p.m. Van transportation will be provided by the university ONLY for students traveling alone, departing and arriving at the FLL Airport at approximately 2:30 p.m. If being picked up or driving, please plan to depart after 1:30 p.m.
