• NSU to honor Don Taft and John C. Johnson at Celebration of Excellence
  Philanthropist Don Taft and Holy Cross Hospital CEO John C. Johnson will receive the Chancellor's Community Award at NSU's annual Celebration of Excellence on Jan. 21.
• Holiday hours for Alvin Sherman Library
  The Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center has revised its holiday hours. Regular hours will resume on Jan. 2.
• Men's basketball team home for the holidays
  The Sharks men's basketball team hosts home games on Dec. 29 and 30 before both the men's and women's team head into conference play in January.
• NSU announces leadership succession plan
  Under a succession plan approved by NSU's Board of Trustees, Ray Ferrero Jr. will become university chancellor and George Hanbury will assume the presidency in 2010 and CEO position in 2011.
• NSU scientist traces shark fins back to geographic origin
  Dr. Mahmood Shivji of NSU's Oceanographic Center was part of a team using new DNA research to trace shark fins from the burgeoning Hong Kong market back to the sharks' geographic origin.
