INTERNATIONAL GUEST INVITATIONS

Contact the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) at (954) 262-7240 to

request a letter of invitation for family members wishing to enter the United States to

attend commencement of candidates on an F-1 visa. Family members should present this

letter to the U.S. Embassy when they apply for B1/B2 visas—the visas used for short-term

business or pleasure visits to the United States.

If a candidate wishes to invite more than one family member, the OISS must be informed if

one letter will suffice or if separate letters are needed for each family member. It is the

candidate’s responsibility to mail these letters to family members.

DIPLOMAS

At commencement, candidates receive a certificate of congratulations when they are called

to the stage and recognized. To make sure you receive an official diploma, go online and

complete the Application for Degree/Diploma after reviewing the important instructions

found a
