PROGRAMS

Commencement programs for guests will be

available at all ceremony entrances. Programs will

be provided for commencement candidates at

their seats. The program, which is individualized

for each ceremony, lists the name, permanent

address, and degree of each candidate.

Names and addresses for the commencement

program are retrieved as they appear in SharkLink.

If you have noticed an address error in previous

communications, correct it via your SharkLink

account or fax the

Change Form

with approved documentation

for any name change.

SECURITY GUIDELINES

For the protection of all, the following are not

permitted inside commencement at the Don Taft

University Center: wrapped gifts, air horns,

balloons, duffle bags, backpacks, backpack-style

purses, diaper bags, waist packs, oversized/large

purses, alcohol, bottles, food, cans, thermoses,

coolers, drugs, fireworks, weapons, noisemakers,

laser pointers, chains, spikes, strollers, and any

other item deemed dangerous to public safety. No

animals, except certified service animals, will be

admitted. All guests are subject to screening

through metal detectors and all bags are subject to

inspection upon entering the venue.

No facilities are available for storing purses or

other personal items. Please leave these items

with your guests. Neither the venue nor NSU is

responsible for items left unattended.

CAPS, GOWNS, HOODS, AND TASSELS

Ordering proper academic regalia is the responsibility of each candidate who participates in

NSU Commencement. Candidates who submit a Commencement Participation Form (CPF)

will be automatically directed to the NSU Bookstore vendor, Oak Hall Cap & Gown, Web site

order form. Only regalia ordered through this site are acceptable wear at NSU

Commencement.

The purchase price of regalia varies according to the degree attained

. Undergraduate regalia

cost $51.00 (plus tax).

Master’s/Specialist regalia c

ost $90.00 (plus tax). The regalia are

yours to keep.

Doctoral candidates may either rent

deluxe regalia a

t a cost of $164.00 (plus tax) or

purchase it for $992.00 (plus tax). Candidates have seven days following commencement to

return the tam, gown, and hood to the bookstore. Failure to do so will result in a charge of

the full purchase price to the student’s account. Rented deluxe regalia will not be available

for shipping due to a process that requires the candidate’s signature at checkout. All regalia

will be available for pick up at the NSU Bookstore on the main campus in Fort Lauderdale,

Fla., up to and including the day before commencement. On the day of commencement,

regalia is available for pick up at the Don Taft University Center, one hour before the start

of each ceremony.

Online candidates who notify the commencement office of their intention to participate in

either commencement or the Senior Awards Dinner & Dance will have their student account

charged the full HPD graduation fee. There are no refunds and this charge may not be

realized until several days after commencement weekend.

Candidates who wish to have their undergraduate or master’s regalia shipped domestically

will be given that option but only if their order is placed by the posted deadline. Individuals

requesting international shipping must allow an additional 6-8 weeks for delivery. Domestic

shipping costs start at $15.95 for regular ground and $28.00 for expedited delivery (contact

the NSU Bookstore for more details). Please remember that there is no shipping of rented

deluxe regalia.
